Can't access some websites with Netscape 7.2. I put in the web address and Netscape 7.2 simply closes. A related site times out. The web address in question is www.commerceonline.com. When I put in the address, browser simply shuts down. The one that times out is www.commerceonlinebanking.com. Netscape 4.79 and IE have no problems accessing the site(s). Haven't seen anyone else report a similar problem. Is there something not configured correctly on my 7.2 ?

Using Windows 98 2nd edition. Made the jump from Netscape 4.79 to 7.2 recently. Except for the inconvenience of the above, I like 7.2 and it's mail options. When I need to access the above site I simply use 4.79. Would be nice to not have to.

I have had this problem with 7.2 shutting down on some other sites but not too often (don't recall the site address(es.) It happens consistantly with the commerceonline.com site though. Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks for your time.

Very interesting. I am in mozilla1.7.5, into which I had copied all the plugin .dll from the old er 1.7.5. It loaded, and tried NS7.2. I noticed that it loaded, but in two steps. Step 2 was the loading of SP quotes rolling along the bottom, plus some other AD like stuff in the bottom. I rechecked 1.7.5, and I saw the symbol for getting the java plugin, which I already have. All this was done with the first link. The second one times out for either NS7.2,Moz1.7.3 and Ns4.8.
    In IE6, I get this:We can't find "www.commerceonlinebanking.com ".
This tells me that it is not a good link. But, in summary, NS7.2 works perfectly.

    Bad link ?

I do all my banking with the commerceonline.com link, I just have to use the older Netscape 4.79. How could it be a bad link ? Still doesn't explain why 7.2 just closes. Why would it close like that ? Something strange is happening. Wonder if anyone else has had a similar problem.

I was also able to access it via IE 6. No problems at all.

OK. Heres something wierd. Think the problem is solved, (sort of). I searched google for this bank and came up with the address www.bank.commerceonline.com. From there I was able to link to www.commerceonlinebanking.com. Once there, I book marked the page. Now my bookmark sends me there no problem. Wierd, huh ? It did ask me if I wanted to set a cookie from them. I allowed it. Could it have been something to do with the fact that I had no previous cookie set and/or that the site is encrypted (a window pops up telling me this) ? Also, when I go to site now, a symbol for the bank is shown before the address listing at the top of the window. I'll check again and see if I have any further problems.
