I successfully installed a drive using the slave jumper setting suggested by you guys, but I have a question.

What will happen if I change the jumper to master?

I am transplanting a drive that is compatable with Nero drivers and noted that it was set to MA on its current machine, but the one on the one it is going to replace is currently set to SL.

    Thanks!

if it is the only drive in the chain it should not matter what it is set to. If you have another drive in the chain then one would need to be set as master and the other as slave.

Thanks, kiddk! I read Mattman's response to mechanic's

post and it also shook up my synapes and I recalled forgotten basics stuff... Appreciate the help. "King of the bitstream," I like that (from the aforementioned thread.) Van the Man should work on that one! ;)

    Happy Holiday!
