    My computer has a Pentium 75 processor and I am running Windows 95. I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows 95 using a Windows 95 upgrade disk for users of Windows 3.1. My problem is that there is no web browser installed. How do I get a browser installed when I can't get connected to the internet for downloads? I might add that I only have a floppy disk drive and 4 X cd-rom. Any way I can do this for free? Also what browser would you recommend for Windows 95?

    Hi and welcome edpar

    could you post back with how much RAM you have in the computer pls., it will help us decide what you could use as a browser...

    (right-click on the "My Computer" icon and choose properties, will show you how much RAM there is)

    also, if you could let us know:
    - how you are getting on line at the moment? (I hope whatever it is has a floppy drive)
    - the Windows95 PC - does it have a dialup modem installed?

    ==

    try this: Start>Find>Files and Folders: put IEXPLORE.EXE for the name of the file, search the whole of your hard drive; if it finds the file, double-click the filename...

    ...and let us know what happened ;)

    best wishes, HJ

    Hugh... Thank you so much for responding. However, I got the problem solved the day before your reply was posted. I found an old version of Internet Explorer on a cd from an old isp I used to use. I was posting from my own computer which is a little outdated also. The one I was trying to fix belongs to my daughter who is in college with no extra money. ( That is why I am trying to keep that computer up and running with as little cost as possible. ) Anyway, it works great! Thanks again for your response!
