    Hello,

I recently bought a usb smart drive floppy for laptop and the instructions state that if I am running Win XP all I have to do is plug it in a go. Well it works fine but for some reason after the pc has sat for a bit idle I can open my computer and there is a drive "B" floppy in there. Next when I reboot I get an error stateing that drive "B" is not ready...so I hit cancle and continue the reboot.

All is good with my laptop and it runs fast and smooth but this one problem is bothering me. It came with a CD rom as well but as I stated above this waas not nessecary because I am runing WIN XP. Any thought as to why the drive is creating a dup of its self?

    Regards,

Does this happen after windows has exited and its back to the 'counting ram' BIOS screen, or are you seeing this before windows exits?

If its the bios screen, then i would just go into your computer bios and change the 'boot order' such that hard drive comes before floppy. (and remember that you did it in case u need to boot off a floppy)

I dont understand the progression of events that make it show up as 'B'. if its not the BIOS thing, can you elaborate on what the deviation from expected behavior is, and any observations that would help us identify an event that caused it
