    Hi
I hope someone here can help me.
I am having a script error using HP Image Zone.

HP does not know how to fix this I guess? For I just get a run-a-round with them.
When I download Image Zone software for my scanner and try to use the HP Director.I get these error message....
    Script error
    Line 176
    Char 21
    Error Object Required
    Code 0
    C:\Program files\Hewlett Packard\Digital Imaging\bbfe\director\director3.htm

    and this one

    Line 779
    Char 5
Error oDEVHelp[...] setting' null or not an object.
    Code 0
    C:\Program files\Hewlett Packard\Digital Imaging\bbfe\director\director3.htm

I sure could use some help here. I have delete and reinstalled this software again and again.
Also When software is installed, In my add / remove program It is listed there, but does not show size in the program.
Everything else there shows a size for the programs.

    Thanks for any help here.

Go to this HP page, enter the information for your HP printer/copier/scanner to get to the correct troubleshooting page.

It will most likely tell you to download and install "MS data access components" but it's best to step through their troubleshooter to make sure.

I have the exact same problem...

    Hi,

I have the exact same problem when I open Director from when I installed (several times but that's another story) the software package 4.2.0 (for 2600/2700 series) that came with my Photosmart 2710 (I'm running WIN ME). HP does not have a fix for this at this time. All HP support did for me was to read back what was on the HP support web site, which I have already read. Nothing on that site tells how to fix this specific problem. I had already tried everything listed on there before I called support. They even referred me to THIS THREAD as a reference to fix the problem (referring to the MDAC answer to your question). Well, for one thing (and this is not to disparage MIZ - who was nice enough to answer your question - it's aimed at HP), MDAC 2.8 (the most current version) comes with the 4.2.0 HP software, I watched it install more times than I can count. It's not necessary to download and install it again, but I played along with support's instructions and downloaded from Microsoft and installed it again. I also played along and installed vbscript 5.6, even though I had already done that. The previous call to tech support they told me to uninstall all the software, delete the HP folder, and then reinstall. Been there, done that....

None of this fixes this problem, the programmers are going to have to look at it. If I had the time, I'd do it myself, but since I paid for this, I'm hoping they fix it....

I had to manually uninstall, Delete all from registry. and reinstall.
I will post the steps in a while.
I am leaving at this time.
