    Hi.

    My problem:

Folders on the desktop will not open. Programmes such as Word, Opera, etc work fine from the desktop. I can open and navigate within folders when in Word or other software, but on the desktop a double click results in a pointer/timer for a few seconds and then nothing. The arrow returns to normal and nothing is opened.

The toolbar works fine, but I cannot open 'Control Panel' from within the start menu, nor can I open 'My Computer' or 'My Documents' within the start menu.

    Can anyone help.

    Thanks

    Andy.

Welcome to the BBS Andy, :)
Do you have the same problem if you login under another user profile, or under the Admin login etc? If not then your profile may be corrupted. The following MS article describes transfering your settings to a new profile.
