In going through my start-up checklist, one item that is checked has no description. It says it's located in the Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ folder, but that's as far as it will give me - there is no name.

This is strange.. do I keep it checked? Uncheck and see if anything bad happens?

    Hello Bam,

do I keep it checked? Uncheck and see if anything bad happens?

Since it's reversable, unchecking a startup is harmless. I don't know what you mean by "bad ". At the worst, something won't work, so you check it again.

It may also help in finding out what the item may be by doing this, if it's some sort of process needed for a current program, you'll find out.

    Regards - Charles

BAM--Are you talking about the list in MSCONFIG|StartUp tab?
If so, you should have three columns showing. The second from the left should be headed "Command ". What command is shown for this program with no name in the "Start Up Item" column (furthest left column)?
If you are not showing "Start up Item" or "Command" columns, then play around with the column separators/dividers at the top of the window. You may be hiding some of the columns. It seems you are showing the "Location" column (and perhaps the "StartUp Item" column, too). But maybe the "Location" column's separator is too far over to the left and hogging the space meant for the "Command" column.
