unwanted restart after shutdown

    When I shut down, the system immediately restarts. I read somewhere this was due to an error in the system somewhere, but I can't retrieve the information. Windows 98W pentium 4

    Hi adamsmill, There are so many users having the same problem, I suggest
    you do a search on this forum, eg for "Shutdown ". Amongst them will be a link to the MS KB page.
    When did the problem occur and do you have access to any registry saves ?
    If so, restore a registry which was saved before the problem arose.
    (scanreg /restore in DOS)
