Runtime error help request please

My operating system is Windows XP. I have a poker site application downloaded on my hard drive. When I open the application it connects to their server and lets me get about half way through the process of logging on to play a game, then I get the following error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!
Program:C\Program Files\Bodog Poker\Game Client.exe

Any ideas?????

If you haven't already tried, uninstall the program, download a fresh copy, and install it. If that doesn't help

Click on start => run, keying in

Code:

sfc /scannow

and OK.

If you still have problems after the system file check runs (and it is usually quick & silent) then start => run => eventvwr.msc and OK then look for errors or warnings that seem related to your problem. When you find one, open it, click on the icon below the up/down arrow to send a text copy to your clipboard then paste the information here. We can probably help find the exact problem and a cure that way.

Yup. That does clearly show the misbehaving app.

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

Did you try SFC?

Yes, tried both other ideas with no change, still getting the same error message

 

I haven't deserted you. Just need some expert advice from someone who is more techy than I am re: this sort of problem.

 

We cannot help you diagnosis why this software is malfunctioning. It was written to perform some very specific things during initialization, and it is failing during one of those calls. In order to figure it out, we would need the source code for the program.

Have you contacted the vendor of the software? Did they provide any clues about what was wrong?

Did this ever work for you? What has changed since then?

An expert debugger could MAYBE, VERY MAYBE use some debugger kungfu on a first chance exception dump to devine what could be going wrong. This would require hours of effort, with little hope for success. Your vendor can spend 5 minutes and tell you what is broken. If they can at least tell you whats broke, we can try to figure out how to fix it.
