I think i made a mistake in upgrading from AOL 9.0 se to AOL 9.0 security, because now my Netscape just never seems to find any mail on my ISPs pop mail server (and it obviously is different than AOL!)

any one else have this issue?

Are you saying that you have both Netscape ISP and AOL? I doubt that many people have that combination.
And, if it so, this is not a Netscape browser issue, because you should not be using Netscape, most likely, to access. In other words I have no idea what kind of set up you have.
I have non-AOL cable, but have AOL, and I was in the "Security" 9.0 beta testing. I can guarantee you that it was a lot of problems, and I would revert to the 9.0 Tahiti GM. I had to do it.
But you will have to tell us if it is a @netscape.com account, do you have dial-up, and stuff like that.

I had even bigger issues since, but....

    I was running:
win98se, aol 9.0, with a seperate ISP e-mail account only (www.fcc.net), which i was accessing from netscape.exe 7.1, I have maintained the AOL only because my wife (not remotely tech savey  ) and she has ALL of her lesson plans, homework assignments, and test schedules, as well as trip schedules posted there. My daughter, (much more tech savey!), has her coach schedule, for her team posted there, and has school work groups in chat rooms.....
So I run both AOL & netscape as seperate programs. (couldn't get outlook to pick up all my pop3 mail)
but i had a fatal system slow crash and had to replace HDD and loaded it with winXP. now i have a whole new set of issues to work out, hardware that no longer has software for XP (if it ever did!)
    thanks for the assist

Your answer is still confusing. I guess that netscape.exe means that you used Netscape to, eventually, get to the mail.
Did you ever set up your ISP mail in NS. I just don't understand your problem.
If you did, but you can't after the crash, and did not have anything backup, you will have to start from scratch. However, I don't understand this not finding the mail. Did you set up the account before the crash?
At this point, I am in a total fog.

    sorry to have fogged you

i will try to clear it up.
i had AOL 9.0 for broadband, i also used netscape 7.01 for various other things, among which was collection of pop3 mail from my ISP (not aol). after i upgraded to aol9.0 security edition, i couldn't collect my email from the ISP (www.webspan.net), THEN my system crashed and said i had 512kb space left on the HDD ( i know i had at least 2.2 Gig twodays earlier)
but basicly one has nothing to do with the other, except to say that the first issue is no longer an issue, as i have replaced the HDD & OS, (which has created a whole new set of issues!)

    does that clear anything up?

Clear? Not much, but on the other hand having AOL for broadband makes everything bad possible.

    2 true

i guess if you want to maintain a corner in the market, one must learn form the 800 pound gorilla, Bill (evil empire) "microsoft" gates.
make your system usable by everyone, compatable with only those who use your system to do things, (not really exportable), and make it appear to be good, (pay people to tell others how good it is!)

That is an AOL problem. It is nothing new.
I have non-AOL cable with AOL, and I can do, just about, anything I want.

i too have non-AOL cable, with AOL used "over it ", but i rarely use it. My SO and daughter use it, althought Daughter is well beyond point and click internet use. She uses it because most of her friends and classmates are there and use it to do group projects and other simple tasks
