I know how to make a install that's bootable and I know how to slipstream a SPK into it. Is there a way to inset my XP serail into the build so that the serial key fields are already populated when I do an install.

You could do this with Win98 and you can make a Win2000 disk that doesn't prompt for the serial, but I can't figure out how to do teither with XP.

    Thoughts?

    No/yes/sorta but mostly no.

If you are doing a number of systems you can certainly set them up with sysprep.exe and use a single key for all the installs but you'd need to tweak each system to substitute the correct key for each PC. Unattended.txt takes the values for XP I think.

I supose that if you only had one system to do and wanted to use sysprep you could accomplish what you want but it seems like lots of extra work and there are a few other ungood after-effects of a sysprep setup.

As to making an install CD that would do all of it for you, I'm really not sure if it is possible and if so, whether it would be worth the effort.

Maybe if you gave us more idea of what you want to do, we could be more helpful.
