A combination of spybot and Ad-aware via links in my sig. and SpywareBlaster should be enough, providing they are updated regularly and you use the immunize feature in spybot as well as enable all the protection in SpywareBlaster. An already infected system may need some further "weeding ".

I'm not aware of any other programme needed for your problem. Personally I don't want anymore than the 3 programmes I already have on my systems. Gotta draw the line somewhere. ;)

Posting a highjackthis log here will get some help on what to delete. I don't have any experience with HJT, as I've not been infected, and therefore haven't needed it.

If you're running XP and you installed it not too long ago, what about using system restore to restore to a restore point before the original install?

Your issue doesn't look to be ad-aware or spyware related, it looks to be a dodgy piece of software that hasn't uninstalled correctly.

You could try installing the offending programme again, then use it's uninstaller or uninstall it through add/remove programes, then delete the install folder in programe files, and finally run a couple of registry cleaners across your system. Two good ones can be found in my sig.
