When i keep my computer idle or locked, most of the time i unlock it or return to my computer, i can not run a singel program! i try to run Internet explorer, it just sits there. I try to run Windows Security by Alt+Crtl+delete, i get it but the task manger sits in the the taskbar but is not functional.

I am using Windows XP Professinal SP1 (don't have enough room for SP2)

i searched for adware, spyware, viruses and i get nothing found.

Please note i also Dual-boot between Windows XP Pro and Windows XP Home SP2

If you're running the Hibernate program of XP, turn it off. It's causes more trouble than it's worth. It has caused many people to lose data. It also takes up more disk space than it's worth.

If you're not running Hibernate, then explain how you are "Locking" the system down. Your problem may be related to disk space so using Hibernate would be hurting you there too.

    its turned off now.

How i lock the system is i have everything the old way. for example you have to type your username in to login. so pressing ALT+CRTL+Delete shows a Window named Windows Security and theres a button that sats "Lock Computer" and when you lock it, you need the username's password to get back in.
