    Hello all,

    I've just installed IE5.5 on a Windows95 machine and after the reboot I noticed that my desktop shortcut names are now truncated, ie. several shorcuts which had "longish" names running onto a third line are now cut off at 2 lines. For example I have an Internet shortcut named "Accessing remote resources from outside the library" - before I installed IE the name appeared in full
    below the shorcut icon like this:

    <icon>
    Accessing remote
    resources from
    outside the library

    After installing IE the shortcut name is truncated to 2 lines and appears as follows:

    <icon>
    Accessing remote
    resources fr...

    I know I could solve the problem by coming up with different names for the shortcuts but I'd really like to be able to display longer shortcut names. I've tried modifying all available "Display" properties (ie. font size, font spacing, icon size, icon spacing, horizontal/vertical spacing); I've also tried applying the registry setting "IconTitleWrap" but none of these work.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Gord.

    Your desktop properties have changed

    Hey there,

    Right click on your desktop, select properties - choose the "Appearance" tab. Your icon spacing settings and fonts etc. are there to adjust. A word of caution, select one at a time to see what you are changing - I would go so far as to write the property down and what your previous and new settings are. You will need to do this until your desktop is viewable per your preferences. When you have finished save your desktop savings by giving them a name other than the windows' defaults.

    :cool:
