Spooky Folders & Files

Hi,

I backed up some folders & files from a friend's machine onto a CDRW disc. For instance, one folder is called "Outlook Storage "

When I pop the disc in either his or my machine, I can view the contents of the disc but cannot copy the contents to a hard drive. They are "read only" files.

Was it a bad burn with these things or is there a work-around to salvage these things from this disc?????

When I right-click either a file or a folder and select "copy ", nothing happens. It's when I go to paste it into my HD that I can copy the folder, name of it and all, but a message appears regarding the first file in that folder (any folder) that says "Cannot copy xxxx: The parameter is incorrect ". The same thing happens when I drag a folder over and select "copy here ".

Ha! Backup time is over. The machine is formatted and Restored.

It's okay.......it's only the address book and Outlook Storage that I could have used.

You know......I even popped in both CDs to see whether the data showed up and it did. I didn't know I'd have to actually copy a file to be sure it was good. Thank goodness the main backup disc was okay, eh? Whew!
