I am using Access 2000 and labeling.

Used to work and something changed

I have set up the labels using the auto-report method. I selected a label number that uses 3 across X 10 down. Standard Avery label number shown in Access.

It prints all the labels and misses no names BUT it prints only 9 rows before loading the next sheet. The last row on each page is left blank. The last row on each sheet is wasted.

Have you tried compacting and repairing your database?

I didn't know anything about compacting until your post so I read the help file.

I made a copy of the database and ran the compact/repair facility. This is not a huge database (about 300 records of about 20 fields). The compacting took place within one second and so I don't know if it did anything. The file date remained the same and the 9 lines of labels also remained the same.
