I built a server for a small office running W2k.
The MB is Asus CUV4X-V, Intel P3 800EB.
It is not being overclocked...standard build, with NIC and Video only.

Rebooting the box randomly occurs with an error right after the BIOS scans for harddrives. The is a two beep alert, with the second beep slightly lower in tone.

"Hardware error detected..F1 to continue, DEL to enter BIOS setup "

When you enter the BIOS {AwardBIOS} POWER\Hardware Monitor, the VCORE voltage for -12.0V Voltage reads 0.00 in RED. All others are BLUE.

Sensing I had a problem but needed more information, I loaded MBM 5 (motherboard monitor) from livewiredev.com. On initial startup the VU meter for -12.0 V read 0.00. After a few minutes the -12.0 V now reads -13.24 V steady.

What type of problems am I encountering This is a production server that needs to stay up. The machine has not yet blue-screened and at this point the error appears to be only a nusance...or is it ?

    Hi 24jedi,

Try borrowing another power supply and see if the errors disappear (if the cables are long enough, you may be able to stretch them to the connections without having to install it into the machine).
