    Hello,

Here is an odd problem for you guys. On my Sony Viao after doing a clean install i have my wireless card, my intel nic card, and my 2 usb connections all become disabled every time i restart. I have to come in and enable them every time. I made sure i had the most resent drivers and it still won't fix the problem. Ideas?

    Thanks

    Hello ningaming,

What you can try is uninstalling the devices and rebooting - one at a time. Maybe going thru XP's recognition process will make it stick.

Let me ask a basic question:

Have you got the hardware Plug&Play service running? I've never had it off so I don't know what the symptoms would be if not turned on and adding a device w/o it running.

If I think of some other possible reason for this, I'll post back.

    Regards - Charles

Check in the BIOS for Plug & Play O/S and toggle the setting - to be found under the Boot menu if present.

    Hello,

I forgot to mention I did a clean install and the problem started occuring. I have done lots of clean installs on other machines and never seen this happen before. I went to Sony's site to see if I was missing something and the "clean" installastation instructions were basic and nothing seemed to be diffrent than what I was aware of doing before.

I thought it was a driver's problem and have updated them....
