Hello, I have one computer with Win XP Pro on a 3 computer home network. The other 2 are W2K Pro computers. I use cable ISP and a Netgear cable ready router. Never had a problem until I uninstalled Norton Antivirus 2003 from the Win XP Pro computer. Now I can not connect to my network with the XP Pro computer but the 2 W2K connect fine. I tried to uninstall the network on that machine but do not know much about it. It is my granddaughters. I tried to ping other computers on network, could not find them. I tried to ipconfig /release it said it was already released. I tried ipconfig /renew again it said could not find other computers. I tried to uninstall tcp/ip but it would not let me. I did sfc /scannow but nothing worked. I am a novice to this. My subscription for norton is out and I want to try another antivirus program. Is there anything I can do to get back connected to network and internet and email for her with the XP Pro computer. The computer works fine except for connecting to network and internet. It is Win XP Pro the first version, it came on the computer which was built by local private shop. We have not upgraded the OS because it works so good for her. Not one problem until I did this. Thanks for any help or advice. I searched this group but could not find any answers, so I am sorry if it has been answered before. Thanks.

Maggie, Thank you for a very quick reply and it fixed the problem, I can connect now as before. Removed the one word in the registry and all is well. Thanks again.
