The first thing to test when you are having problems with MS-DOS-based programs is the Windows Virtual DOS Machine (NTVDM) subsystem. You can use the Command.com utility to test whether the NTVDM subsystem is running properly. To start Command.com, follow these steps:
    1. Click the Start button, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type command.com, and then click OK.
This should start a command prompt window. If this does not work properly, then there is a problem with the NTVDM subsystem, and further steps will be needed to fix this.

So do the above steps 1 and 2 and see if a dosbox appears without a problem. Note: You may have to type exit to close this session of command.com when or if it appears.

    --------------
What are or is the name of the[these] game?
How are you trying to install this or these games? By this I mean,
*are you using windows "add/remove program" wizzard
*did this setup autostart such as when you insert a cd
*are you exploring the cd and manually selecting any setup or install selection

When you get this error do you have the option to continue or ignore the warning or error? If so do so. Are you familiar with the "compatibility wizard "?

Hi Casie. You need to put your follow-up / reply in your original thread to keep us from getting confused.

This is the one you want.
