Trying to help my sister that lives miles away from here. She told me that when she opens her browser to a link, then from there goes to another link she gets "Page Expired." May not be it exactly, but close.

She said that if she closes the browser she can go to the link that was indicated Expired.

So, she can only open one link, has to close browser to open another link. I don't have any answer for her. Never heard of this. Would appreciate any help with this. Feel like there is something that can be done to correct this other than repairing or reformatting. Sure hope so because if I can't help her by email, will have to drive about 200 miles to do the repair or reformat. She's a "favorite sister" and I'd really like to help.

Mudd--Is this happening on all sites?
Usually this happens when you access a site--especially a page which requires password log-in-- and then use the Back button to go back to it. You have to go to the home page and log back in.
However, while I doubt it will help, you could suggest she click on "Refresh" when she has this problem.

As I understand it: From her Favorites she selects a link. It opens fine. From that opened link she attempts to select another link. The Page Expired comes then. She can close her browser, select the second link again and it opens.

My mind is old and forgetful but I remember something from Win 98 and earlier Browsers about a place to check for updated Links, something to that effect. Can't find that anymore.

Mind you, I'm quoting everything from the sister's email. Maybe she is off a little describing the problem or me from the interpertation.

Mudd - if the link fails, you may be looking at a browser issue. I just tried it and it worked fine.

This is the same link but maybe with the mask it will work better or if not, copy/paste
    Code:
    http://search.microsoft.com/search/results.aspx?st=b&na=88&View=en-us&qu=Page+Expired
    into your address bar.

    Pete - Newt

And the Link works fine now that I have thought a little. Just the past few days the Cable Company offered a Spyware Removal and PopUp Stopper. I had forgotten that the new PopUp Stopper will not let me move from link to link without using CTRL. Did that and the Link works fine.

Pete, thank you for the information. And Newt, thanks for waking my brain cells from their slumber!

So do you think your sister is suffering from the same 'feature'?

Don't think so Sir. She is not one to download anything. So I'm sure she hasn't done anything different since it worked properly. She is on a dialup connection, from a different ISP so she could not have the same program.

I think I'll go there after Thanksgiving and see what I can do to update her machine. Maybe that will solve the program.

    Thank for responding. :)
