I finally figured out how to use RSS with Firefox (does the happy dance). I added a live bookmark from Zero Intelligence. I also get email updates from that site, notifying me of new articles. I read two new articles from the email update, but when I checked the live bookmark, it didn't have them. I checked about 15 minutes later and they were there.

Is it normal for there to be a delay in the update of a live bookmark? Are these bookmarks updated manually or automatically?

    shadowhawk,

I've never used the RSS feature, so I have no idea about the delay, but I will try and find out for you.

    shadowhawk,

Went to the link you provided, clicked on the RSS icon in the Status Bar, and selected Atom RSS Feed. Checked my Bookmarks and the RSS icon was beside Zero Intelligence, and all headlines were listed. No delay at all, it was instantaneous.

This was automatic, as I did nothing manually, but click on the RSS icon.

When I click on the icon, I just get the XML code, not a newsfeed.

That's what I get after I create a live bookmark and put the location of the RSS feed in the properties thing. If I just left click on the XML button, it shows the source code.

    shadowhawk,

Not sure what you mean when you said that you put the location of the RSS feed in the properties thing. If I just left click on the XML button, it shows the source code.

All I did was click on the RSS icon, selected http://www.zerointelligence.net/atom.xml, then added it to my Bookmarks.

You no doubt know more about this than I do...

I went into Manage Bookmarks<Create Live Bookmark. Then I put the address of the RSS feed in the Feed Location box.

    shadowhawk,

Just for the heck of it, delete your Live Bookmark, and then recreate it the way I described. See if it works then. I note that the Live Bookmark I created for your site shows new Articles, so it definitely is working. I have no third-party reader...

On that particular site, there's no orange XML or RSS button. There's a little icon that appears at the bottom of the browser window. I'm able to left click that and create the bookmar. But on sites with the XML and RSS buttons, I have to right click the button and Save Target As.
