    Hi,
This question has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find it..
99% of the time when I go to shut down, when the computer gets to 'Saving your settings', it just hangs up. Is there a quick fix for this?

Sorry, I don't have a fix for you...

I had this problem too. After a while it disappeared and the system is shutting down OK. I haven't done anything to it. Weird...

Yes, we have had this happen a few times. once we had some uncompatible software on our computer for a day or 2, and it locked up there every time. I finally got rid of the software, and ran the "error-checking" software, and things have been running smoothly since then

Ahh... I see yours is "hanging" at the "Saving your settings ".... mine actually stops at the "Windows is Shutting down "... screen.

    Hi,
My thanks to all of you for your replies. Seems as though it's similar to that Win 98 SE problem again!!
Have to wait and see if they cure it with the next update.
Meanwhile, I've another problem, see 'Dial-up'

    Hiya

Not a positive answer, but a way to go:

    http://www.aumha.org/a/shtdwnxp.htm

I just normally have to press Reset on the PC, as this freezes sometimes in Win2000. I think on Win98 it says A program is not responding.

eddie5659 Thanks for that URL.... I was looking for it to post it....

It's the same good'ol Windows shutdown problem alright, but it seems much less widespread then before, and in most cases much more easy to fix!
