When I insert a CD in the CD-R/RW Drive(E:\), then I'll open up Easy CD Creator. When I click on name to get the Track Titles I get an error message. An error occurred while attempting to download you album information. Pleas check you computer internet connection. My connection is working fine. This the first time I tried to access this information sice installing SP2 and installing Norton Internet Security2005. It worked using NIS 2004. Is there a trick to getting it to work again.

Normally, I think the advice would be to open your firewall and give Easy Cd server permission. In this case, I recall there was an update to Easy Cd 5 that updated its CDDB service. Check the normal Roxio update locations first. If it's not there, go to the Easy Cd 5 Roxio forum and search for CDDB. There's probably a direct link to the update file posted by a Roxio guru there.

Try your advice. Could not find anything for ECDC V. 5.3.5.10u. I keep getting the old I need to upgrade routine.

Well, I know there was a separate fix they used to post for the CDDB service. Perhaps they fixed that particular problem in one of their normal update patch's.

If you look at some of the forum posts on the Roxio site, you'll find that lots of folks have serious problems using Easy Cd 5 on XP Service Pack 2. I guess the program has seen its own end of life.

I'd try searching those forums for your issue. If Roxio still will provide tech support that would be the next try.

Other than that, if everything else works then I guess it might be satisfactory to you to just type in the titles when you really need them there.

Again, if the rest of the software is working fine for you you might also want to try a free program called AudioGrabber. It used the freedb database to look up titles, and will rip cd's to the hard drive and convert to many formats. The web site also includes instructions on how to use the Lame encoder as an internal plugin for AudioGrabber. Usually, that's better than what's on your system and certainly better than the encoder used in Easy Cd. Then, you can use Easy Cd to make cd compilations with the files you've ripped or do whatever else you need.

Thanks for your reply. Roxio doesn't support this version anymore. Maybe it is time for an upgrade. After all it's been since March of 2002 with this version or sometime during 2002. I guess SP2 doesn't play nice with every program. Thanks again for your imput.
