How does the translate tool work in Mozilla? I click on the menu item when I am in a foreign language page and nothing happens. I have the relevant language added in the preferences section.

    Link

    http://www.ledevoir.com/

When the page is in the browser and I click on Tools, Translate Page. Nothing happens. Is there any setting in Preferences that needs to be checked? I can't find any.

    boutells,

No setting in Preferences. I just went to this page in Mozilla 1.7.3, clicked on Tools | Translate. This is the first paragraph.

You stated that you were using French to English, but that would be the default? Do you use a language rather than English, US?

No. There are obviously some settings that aren't right as I have now tried this in two computers with the same problem. The question is, what settings?

    boutells,

There are no settings for this, but I do wonder whether or not you are using English/United States, or English/United Kingdom? I'm not certain this would make a difference, but I suppose it might.

Whenever I need some humor, I go to an Italian website, do the Translate.
It is done automatically from the language to English. The translations are absolutely hilarious
This is done through Google, and I don't see any settings to change.

    boutells,

Do you run Windows XP or Windows 2000? I did find Bugs on the Translation Tool that sound like what you're experiencing:
    Bug #238107
    Bug #240412

Unfortunately I see no workaround yet.

I am using XP. It would appear that I have to wait for a subsequent version as the bugs don't seem to be fixed.

    boutells,

You can use Google to translate the page. Access Google, insert the link to the page you referenced, then select: "Translate this page ".
