I posted here because I did not know where else to post.

How can I remove the history that shows on my browser window (Yahoo)?

I am referring to the drop down alphabetical list that shows past searches. I upgraded from 98 to 98SE and these lists began to appear.

I have tried a number of programs and none remove this list. I even tried the below to do it to no avail. I can remove dat. files, cookies, etc, but this one is a bummer and I cannot find where the data resides as well.

    In DOS
    deltree /y cookies
    deltree /y history
    deltree /y tempor~1

Someone have a ring to toss overboard to save me head-health?
    Thanks!

Hive--Not sure if you are talking about Search entries or Address bar entries to reach websites. In the latter case and for IE, the data resides here
My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Typed URLs. Going there would allow you to delete individual entries if you did not want to delete all.
I do not know if Yahoo stores in a different place. Perhaps substituting "Yahoo" for "Internet Explorer" in the above key.

    Thanks Gents!

TonyT, it did the trick and I feel like a Duh-bya for not trying that one.

Welsh ... I saved the other for later. It was the Yahoo Search Window that was the problem. The address bar is easily cleared.

    Mucho gracias! I wonder still,

    Prune Google History

Just for anyone who only wants to knock certain items from the Google search history, you can highlight any item by hovering and press your delete key. I appreciate the history list but do like to prune it now and then.

Just bring up a new Google search screen and click once in the entry line. That should reveal all of the past searches in alpha order. Hover over the one you want to remove and press delete. Voila!

That same method SD2 described also works with auto-complete for user names and passwords, too. Highlight and delete.
