I downloaded version 2.3. Is this the current version? It only presents itself if I hit the F8 button. There is no option to show it in the View button at the top.

I've a question about the Popups button. What is its point since Firefox 1 has its own Popup killer? Thanks.

    James,

    The site says:
Note the Build date is 10/03/04, so I would consider this the most current version, especially in view of the fact that it is compatible with 1.0. I don't use the extension, so I can only quote what is on the download page of the Extension.

These are the open bugs for Prefbar

If you will go to the above link for the Extension, and click on "Bugs" it also has a list of all bugs, and not only the open bugs, as the above list.

The page also says that there is an extensive Help section included in the Prefbar, so perhaps you will find out more there.

It appears that the F8 Key does work, even though the extension is not in the View menu.

As for the Popup Killer, it would appear that it is unnecessary, unless it also kills the popups that the internal popup manager does not.

I have really suffered without the Prefbar in Firebird, but, Ramona is correct about v.2.3.1 . It just became availableAnd it shows up in in View|Preference Toolbar.
The Popup button is not necessary, if you have Popup set to be blocked. However, there are occasional popups which will come up, regardless, and checking the Popup button helps. I found this to be true with some ads at the PGA website. So, I have it there, but unchecked. Version 2.3 will work for Netscape or Mozilla, or earlier Firefox versions.

You might also check and see which theme you are using as certain themes will raise havoc with extension. I use Mozilla 1.7.3 and have experienced certain oddities with different themes.
