Just to keep the names straight, windows Explorer is just that. It allows you to see what you have on your computer, and where, and remove files, which are not part of programs. You are using Internet Explorer, and Firefox1.0 corresponds to IE. Neither have mail, so Outlook Express has a counterpart in Thunderbird0.9.
I have put in the version numbers, so Thunderbird0.7.1 is bit old.
Netscape, and also Mozilla combine browser and mail. Netscape7.0 is more than two years old. The latest version is 7.2, not as updated at Mozilla1.7.3.
It can get complicated, but if you are willing to find out where everything is you will be happy with Firefox and Thunderbird. If you don't like to look around, and learn, they are not for you. Nothing on the Web is safe, but they are the safest.
