In several web-pages, I've get a message saying that there is an script error
    It can look like following:

There has been an error in the script on this page

    Line: 18
    Sign: 1
    Error: Expecting an object
    Code: 0
    URL: http://.............

Will you keep running script on this page?

    YES NO

    (translatet from norvegian)

It dosen't seem to matter if I choose yes or no.

    Have tried following:

    * Made sure that virusprog (norton), firewall or IE diden't block active scripting, aktiveX-controller or Java-appleter

    *Checked settings in Norton

*I've got the newest scriptmotor: windows script 5.6

    *Have reinstalled IE form CD

*Have roled back the computer to wich this wasen't a problem

*Deleted temporary internet files, cookies and log

*Reduced the number of colors Windows is using

    *Reduce the screen area

*Use the default values for the security settings in IE

*In IE's tools, I have choosen NOT to show a message for every script error

I've don't got jBuilder or C++ installed, and I'm using Windows XP Professional

Still, after all this, I get the message of script error....it's driving me mad
Been looking on the internet for answers, but all I can find, are things I've already done.

I've found on the internet, that this error message can occur if you have configured Windows to use the 16-color palette.
To resolve this issue, I have to change the Color Palette setting to 256 Color or a higher setting. The problem here is that I only have two choices: 16- or 32-color palette. I don't know if this is the problem? Anyway, how do I get 256 color?

    Can you please help me?

    Thanks

    JulieN

    From IE
    Tools>Internet Options>Advanced
Untick "display notification about every script error "

How about IE options>Advanced>check "Disable Script Debugging in IE" and the same in Other. (just below).

Thank you for answers, but none of them could help me. I've checked them before I've asked for help here... :p

Well, by the way, I've fixed it, and for those with similar problem, here is what I had to do:

When nothing in the list above helps, it's probably some kind og virus, that your virusprogram or spyware-remover can't find.

Only one thing helps then........install windows all over.....did that, hate that, but still, it helped

Hope my list above, and this answer helps other
