I was running ME and am trying to install Win2K pro. I reformatted my hard drive after creating the boot disks. Now when I put the disk in when I am rebooting in order to install my OS, it keeps saying "Non-system disk or disk error" ... I can't make more floppy disks as my only computer with a floppy drive is the one with the problem... Eek! What next?

    Hi,

    Welcome to the WindowsBBS!

Set the BIOS to boot from CD-ROM, and boot with the Win2K CD. This CD is bootable, and you'll be asked to partition/format the hard drive when needed.

Exactly. You cant boot with ME boot disks and run 2000 setup from CD. They are not compatible, and even use different file systems by default (fat32 and NTFS)

Even though you can run setup from the CD manually, you should run setup by booting from the CD with 2000 and XP.
