Hello, I have been using Mozilla Suite, browser only, for about 3 months and like it very much. Have not had any problems that I could not fix or use the view this page in ie. I have been trying to use ThunderBird as my email client. I was using Outlook 2003 because the goverment agency I send emails to uses it. My question is two part. First I was upgrading to ThunderBird 0.9 and as I have read in the forums I wanted to delete 0.8, well I did that and got 0.9 running just fine. In the process of deleting ThunderBird I also deleted Mozilla Suite 1.7.3 I was not worried about that because again I read in the forums my profile would be left, so as I was looking around on the support pages and generally reading about Mozilla I found myself on a page that listed all kinds of files, ie. trunk, exe different OS so I saw win32.exe 7/ or something to that affect. So I downloaded it and clicked on the file it loaded just fine and looked exactly like the Mozilla Suite I had just deleted. Later I checked the version with Help/About Mozilla and to my suprise it said version 1.7.5 Gecko/20041103 I checked moxilla.org and it still lists 1.7.3 What do I have and should I go back and get 1.7.3 What I have is working as before without any problems themes (I only have 2 ) the extensions work, but I am unsure about keeping this version since 1.7.3 is the one listed on Mozilla's page.

Sorry if this so long. When I use ThunderBird I have always sent mail in Plain Text, especially to the goverment agency. Some times they get it some times they do not, so I send the same message with Outlook 2003 to make sure. Thay always get those. But my question is: how is the Plain Text font determinated in ThunderBird. I sent a plain text message to a friend using it for the first to send to him and he wrote back saying the font was so big it did not fit on his screen, that he had to use scroll bars to read it. I saw it and it was about 3 times as big as this font I am writing in this message now. Can I make Plain Text I send smaller or anything I can do. He is the only one I heard this from, but maybe some others just did not say anything. He uses Yahoo.com Mail service. And he uses Netscape Internet Service as his ISP. but not netscape mail. Thanks for any help or advice. I would like to get away from Outlook, it is a very big program just for email. I want to get away from ie6 and never have used Outlook express. FYI, I have to email a goverment clinic twice a day as I can not talk because of injuries of the first IRAQ war to let them know I am OK, if I do not email them I can not stay at my home by myself, and I want to be independent. Thanks

    Dan
I use Windows 2000 Pro 512 Ram and it is very stable

    Dan,
you are a patient man. Others would ranting about their problems.
First of all, I hope that when you say "del;ete" that you have actually Removed the program from the Add/Remove.
In Thunderbird you set your Send conditions from Tools|Options|Composition| Send options button. In Mozilla it is done the same way, but Edit|Preferences|Mail and News|Composition, etc.
Thirdly: the 1.7.5, and date are the ones of Firefox RC2. So, it should say Firefoxx pretty loudly. There is other final version past 1.7.3.
Which mozilla,.org indicates 1.7.3?, i.e the path. There is a 1.7.3 file in the Program Files|Common Files|mozilla.org|GRE. If you see it, and you don't see it any Program Files|mozilla.org, then you must have deleted and not uninstalled. Obviously, you should check first the Control Panel|Add/Remove first. If you worked from there, then you were ok.
You don't need the Mozilla suite, if FF and TB work.

    Westside,
Thank you for a fast reply. I did use the Add/Remove programs when I uninstalled both ThunderBird and Mozilla Suite.

Now in the Add/Remove Programs window this is what is listed:
    Mozillia (1.7.5)
    Mozillia Thunderbird (0.9)

    Under Programs Common Files
    Mozilla.org
    GRE
    1.7.5_2004110504

    Under Programs
    Mozillia.org
    mozillia
    chrome
    components
    defaults
    plugins
    res
    searchplugins
    uninstall

When I go to Help > About Mozillia in the Mozillia Suite it has a giant red and gold star with the Mozillia logo in it and it says Mozillia.org then next to that is says>
    Mozillia 1.7.5
    Mozillia/5.0(Windows;U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US RV:175

Westside, that is what I found in all the places you mentioned, there is no reference to Firefox any place. Actually I have never installed Firefox from any web site, I want to use it but I thought I would wait for the final release.

I will go to the areas you told me to and set the send options I would like to use. Again thank you for your answer.

    Dan

    ?
Replying to your earlier e-mail. It looks like a Mozilla Suite, but as I said, I am not aware of a Mozilla1.7.5.
Where did you obtain it? But, if you have a folder in both Program Files|mozilla.org and Program File|Common Files|mozilla.org|GRE , you have such beast installed. If you cannot find a shortcut, go to Program File|mozilla.org and locate the ugly red mozilla.exe, right click on it|Send to desktop. You should be able to access this mystery Mozilla. I cannot find any reference to it, anywhere.

Westside, so sorry about the one reply. I hit a wrong key when I was replying. Did not know how to delete it. I do have a shortcut on my desktop, when I installed it the very same menus and license to accept came up as 1.7.3, it ask me if I wanted shortcut on desktop and it ask if I want the quick launch, I could do a custom install or complete or browser only. When I clicked on the file I downloaded (Mozillia-win32-installer.exe) 12,044 KB it looked exactly like when I installed 1.7.3 version. I can not for the life of me tell you where I was because I tried to get back there and have not found it. But I started on the Mozillia Suite home page where you download 1.7.3 and decided to look around, at support, unofficial support, developer/tester anything that was on that page or one of the pages it took me to. But I have not been able to find my way back to this file. I will be happy to send it to you if you like. I have cable as an ISP so it only took a minute to download it. Again thanks for your time I know by reading this forum how busy you must be answering all the questions from folks. Please let me know if you want the file and what I should do to send it to you. Thanks

    Dan

    Dan,
I was sort of pulling your leg when I remarked about the other message. But, also, wanted to know if you had something else to say.
I don't care for the file, but you can give me the file's name.
I enjoy helping Ramona, who had been handling the entire thing.
I got plenty of time, being retired, and I know that if I can't follow up on a reply, that someone else will do it.
Don't bother with a quick launch. All it does is to save you 15 sec,. loading the program, and, may create some problems. Just do what you have to do, nothing extra.
By the way, I figured out the problem with Firefox1.0RC2, who could not handle a music player, which was handled well by NS7.2, and Moz1.7.3, with User Agent Switcher pointing to 7.2. Firefox did not have the full complement of plugins file. I copied all the NS7.2 plugins file, and everything is working now.

    Westdside,

I know you were kidding, but it was my mistake. The files name is Mozilla-win32-installer.exe. I got a message from some one at mozillia.org telling me that this version is Mozillia Suite 1.7.5 from the nightly stable 1.7 branch. I still have no idea how I got there. Anyway you are right too, it is the same build numbers as the new Firefox. I want to thank for such good and quick support. It is a pleasure using a product knowing support is right there. Not to mention how good these Mozillia products are. Thanks again.

    Dan
