    Hi all,

I am facing a strange error since last 4 days. Some of the machines on my network having windows 2000 sp4 are giving a error "Can't run 16-bit windows program" Insufficient memory to run this application. Quit one or more windows applications and then try again. The screen becomes fully occupied by the above mentioned pop-up message.I have checked in the Task List & found that when i end-task the NTVDM process the error disappears.

I am unable to know from where this error is coming as i don't have any 16-bit application to be used on these machines. All the machines have NTFS filesystem.

Welcome to the board abhishek2k, :)

The NTVDM process is the Windows 16-bit Virtual Machine process that allows 16-bit process to execute on a 32-bit platform.

Maybe from Start/Run do a system file check/Replace in case of missing or corrupted system files. sfc /scannow You will need your install disk in the drive, and if the install disk doesn't contain SP4, then you should reinstall SP4 after the scannow.
