I am using XP Pro - Service Pack 2, and have Microsoft Office Word 2003 installed on 2 PC's, with Printer Sharing enabled.

One PC has an Epson Colour Printer attached, and the other a Minolta PagePro Laser.

If I set the Epson as the default Printer on both PC's, I can print Word Document's from both without any problems.

However, if I set the Minolta as the default Printer, I can print Word Documents from the machine with the Minolta attached, but the Word Program will not even work on the other PC.

Would anyone have any ideas as to why this should be?

Have you got the latest drivers loaded? They list at least 6 different models of PagePro printers Here with download links for XP-friendly drivers.

Is it only Word 2003 documents you have trouble with or is it printing in general? If only Word 2003 items, what happens if you save a document as an older version and try to print over the network?

    Thank you for the reply.

I can print documents from other programs on the Minolta, but I was interested in why the Word Program would not even work on the PC which did not have the Printer attached to it.

Could this be caused by incorrect Drivers?

I thought maybe there is a Word Program setting somewhere that I have missed.
