Microphone to speaker (earphone)

    Should one be able to speak into the microphone and hear that on the earphone? Or, use a headset that way? [Micron TransPort T2200, Windows 2000]

    Welcome to the board Leonard, :)
    Depends on your soundcard setup. Check the "Mixer" app from the taskbar or from within the control panel. You should have a Mic input and corresponding outputs. Check that no mute buttons are ticked and that the faders are turned up. You may need to go into the mixer properties and enable other inputs/outputs that may not appear by default on the mixer such as a microphone fader.

    Does audio in general play OK through your speakers and headphones and does the Mic work through the speakers at low level so as not to cause feedback?
