I have installed a cisco systems vpn client on a computer. This computer is a sony laptop running xp. When I try to use the dial up it won't connect. I know all of the setting in the cisco vpn are right because I set this up all the time. My computer at home runs xp and I had no problem but the laptop has service pack 2 where my home pc doesn't. Any ideas?

    Thanks, Justin

Good suggestion. I was tinkering with it but currently can't get it to work. The UDP 62515 was already checked in that setting. I will continue to mess with it but maybe their are more settings I need to mess with. let me know what you think.

    Thanks

Did it work with the firewall disabled?
May be you just need to reinstall the VPN client.

    jnpeanut,

I run cisco systems vpn client at home and use it almost everyday to connect and take control of my work desktop using Remote Desktop Connection. I have never had a problem with it. I do know that I had to upgrade to the newest version of the VPN Client when I went to XP. I think it is version 3.0 (not 100% sure since I am at work and can't check the version). What version are you running? You may want to see if a newer version is available. Do you get any errors return or it just won't connect? Also, I have the XP firewall turned on as well as running Kerio firewall and I did not have to make any special config changes for the VPN.
