I have a W98 PC which won't boot at all, always gets stuck at "Fatal Exception 0E has occured at 0167:BFFC9750. The current application will be terminated "

No indication of what the problem application is. Searching the net indicates this may be to do with Norton or some other firewall. All suggest a clean boot to disable starup programmes using msconfig.

Trouble is I can complete any boot at all, Normal or Safe. I can get to DOS and could edit Config.sys and Autoexec.bat but not sure what else to try.

    Any suggestions would be helpful
