    Hi

Im new to the forum and would appreciate some help.

I am getting blue screens whilst playing Unreal Tournament 2004 but I get no error message on the blue screen. The PC does not re-boot but stays on the blue screen and in the background I can still hear the game.

So I guess first off I need to know how to enable the error message when the blue screen occurs please.

Im not sure if this is relevant but I recently installed a new sound card (Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS) after having used onboard sound (ABIT AI7 mobo).

I have uninstalled the onboard sound drivers and disabled it in the BIOS.

I am also unable to find the error minidump file.

    THANKYOU

if its still playing sounds, but the video is 'blue screened', it may be that the video subsystem has gone unstable.
I would update every driver to latest REFERENCE/WDM (especially video) if possible.
Also you may want to consider getting a software motherboard tempature monitor like this one. Could be an overheat with that new whizbang sound card.

You may also try http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244139/EN-US/ to generate a memory dump of the machine. I note that i cannot read this kind of dump over the internet, you will need to call microsoft for analysis. It would be interesting to know if it will even write the dump though.

Thanks..I thought though that when ytou got a blue screen you also got an error message like "IRQL.LESS>BLA BLA>" or something to that effect...I just get a pure blue screen no messages.

When you get the classic BSOD (blue screen of death) the PC has been stopped so no sound or any other activity.
