Black screen during start up

    Paniced friend needs help!

    She is running Win ME on a Gateway and has recently had the screen go black after bootup and can't get any further.

    Any ideas?

    Hello T&S,

    I would say a bad video card. Has your freind called Gateway? They can have her run diagnostics to verify whether it is the card.

    Try reseating it to see if that helps.
