    Hi, guys.

Recently, I have a problem updating my norton.

Each time I did so, the screen would turn blue in the middle of the downloading/installing process. Two simple lines of words would be displayed on the top of the screen.
    ***STOP: 0x0000000D/ (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    Beginning dump of physical memory.

Can you tell me what is going on?

    thank you. :)

Impossible to say for sure from the information you have but my first guess would be that you have picked up some malware (spyware, virus, etc.) that is causing the problem. Lets look for that first and if no luck, then move on to more complex possibilities.

I'm moving this to the spyware/virus removal section for now. You need to get and run Ad-aware and Spybot to clean things up, run at least two on-line virus scans, then post a Hijackthis log so we can look for critters the cleaning apps missed.

If you aren't sure about how to do any of these or where to get the apps, a little searching in the spyware section of the forum and a look at quicklinks from my signature should fix you up.

I might try uninstalling and reinstalling Norton's "Liveupdate ", although I think I tried it one time and it said that Systemworks had to be uninstalled first.

Are your Norton subscriptions up-to-date? (If it is more than 1 year old, that's when you have to start paying for updates).
