    Hi folks,

I have a new PC: P4 2.8Ghz 1Gb RAM 2x80Gb hdd. I use MicroSoft Outlook Express and Internet Explorer. It also has ADSL NIC card and an external 4 port ADSL router.

Today I successfully connected it to my old PC ( it has a NIC card ) via the ADSL router. Wonderful !!

My question is about the email function on both PC's. Will both PC's receive the same emails at the same time or does the old PC read them from the new PC?

Thanks in advance for all responses................

If the old computer can access the internet (assuming it can), then it will check for email wherever its Outlook Express is set up to check in its Tools>Accounts.

If you put your mail in the kitchen can you read it when you're in the living room?

You have to create an account in OE on both PCS. Tools --> Accounts --> Add Mail. If you want copies of the received emails on both computers you'll have to set OE to leave the email on the server for a day or whatever. You'll see the account listed once you've added it, choose the Properties button, click the Advanced tab, and check off "Leave a copy of message on server" set it to about 2 or 3 days, depending on how frequently you will check the email on both computers. If you don't really care if the messages are duplicated, ignore leaving a copy of the message on the server. It will then be a race to the finish line to see who can get the mail first.
