Just got the notice that updates are ready for my computer. Windows XPSP2. I am not ready to install it yet. It says Size: 75.0MB-266MB. Can someone tell me where on my computer that it is. I would like to copy it to a CD for later. Then turn off automatic update, and get rid of the notice.

When I downloaded the full version from MS Catalog, it went to a subfolder of C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp. I seem to recall that it had some long alpha string name. Since it was 278,927,592 bytes I copied it to another drive and renamed it to SP2, which seems too simple, what?

Now that I reconsider, I doubt if any of this applies to your download however since you were getting it in a different form and from a different source.

    Good luck with your search.

I did not download it. Automatic Update downloaded it from the Microsoft Update site. I need to find it to burn to a CD and delete it. Then it should not bother me to install it.

    Um,
Why not install it? Then you shouldn't be bothered by the prompt.
It would not be advisable to archive a machine specific (express install) SP2 update anyway. Best to as suggested, download the full install from the posted link, and copy to a CD, or have MS send it to you, and maybe slipstream the update with your original XP disc.

Went into my hard drive to look around. Since it is windows, I went there first. A whole lot of files in there. Nothing rang a bell. Worked backward to C: and there was a folder called SP2. In there was a file called KB835935-SP2-enu. Self Extracting Cabinet. Clicked on it, and it extracted to a new folder called e0d43fe5cfsd7de895. It tried to install, but I canceled out. Burned both folders to CD, and deleted them from C:. Turned off Automatic Update, and it quit bugging me. Will order the CD from Microsoft for later. Thanks every one.
