    Hi and welcome to the forum.

    Have you looked at the thread right above this one named "Limited or No connectivity" Bug Fix Here to see if it might help you?

    DNS Server failed

    Thanks for the response, struggling to undestand what to do and doesnt seem to help.

    I ran a diagnostic test? and it said that DNS server failed and the below came up?

    00655363] WAN Miniport (IP) (FAILED)
    DNSServerSearchOrder = 195.93.35.134 (FAILED)
    Pinging 195.93.35.134 with 32 bytes of data:
    Reply from 195.93.35.134: bytes=32 time=19ms TTL=19
    Request timed out.
    Reply from 195.93.35.134: bytes=32 time=20ms TTL=20
    Reply from 195.93.35.134: bytes=32 time=18ms TTL=18
    Ping statistics for 195.93.35.134:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss)
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 18ms, Maximum = 20ms, Average = 19ms

    The starnge thing is i managed to access the ps2 online zone had to turn the PS2 off and when I tried to get back on (literally 5 minutes later) i have all these problems??

    Any help would be gratefully receievd

    Thanks

    Did you visit Dez Bradley's site and run the suggested fix items?

    Not sure what 'diagnostic' you ran but please post the entire results if you want me to make sense of it. Some interesting pieces in what you posted but too much missing info.

    I'd suggest you also post your query on a site dedicated to Sony Playstations. There maybe someone on these boards who can help, but you may well get a quicker response on a dedicated Playstation 2 board.

    It would help us if you could tell us how you are connection to broadband. More specifically, what do you connect to the other end of that cross over cable?

    If it is a modem, I wonder if you are getting the same MAC address problem other users are reporting with US DSL connections. Your PS2 will have a different MAC address to your computer. Your ISP may be blocking access to any system that is not using your computer's MAC address. To fix this you will have to find the MAC address of the ethernet card you bought for the playstation (it may be printed on the card itself, or will be in the docuentation that came with the card) and ring your ISP's tech support and give them the new MAC address.

    If it is a router, we may be able to help with suggestions on how to set up the router, but I would expect that the problem may be something specific to the playstation requirements - something I wouldn't be able to help with, but there may be some else who can.

    I tried the Dez bradley site but no joy, even downloaded the "fix "

    The crossover cable goes into the ethernet adapter in my playstation and then straight into comp.

    is there any more info i can give u guys that will help?

    I'm at my wits end

    Sony r very unhelpful
