    I was having a look at the AMD webpage and noticed that for my CPU the recomended voltage is 1.65v.

    Checking my BIOS, voltage set to auto was 1.5. This gave an idle temp of 31C.
    Ive been and put it to 1.65 as recomended, now my idle is 11C more at 42C!!!

    The CPU code is:

    AXDA2400DKT3C - - which means

    AthlonXP2400//Organic Package//1.65Vcore die temp//90Cmax//256K cache
    //266Mhz FSB

    I suppose that 42C isnt much when its max operating temp is 90C but i would hate for it to go over 50C for reliabilty.

    Will update when i run at 100% for a while.

    ____________

    Updated... its running at 100% for 20 mins and its holding at 50C which is 10C warmer than when at 1.5v.

    Havent assessed stability yet.

    Just looked at the Vcore in Asus Probe and its reading 1.689V!!!!

    What should i regard as accurate, the reading from probe or the BIOS setting?

    Everest says core voltage 1.5 - 1.65
    IO voltage 1.6

    Should i just take an average of all 3!!?? :(

    ___________
    Update:

    Set the BIOS voltage to 1.625 rather than 1.650, now the 100% temp has dropped to 42C which is more resonable. Think the chip was getting 1.7 nearly!!! 1.625 is holding most readings at 1.650 as rated.
