I have tried to take off windows 95 but I did not take all of it off

    so now I can not get to my desktop because I have taken off most of the windows. What are my options now? I wanted to put on 98 but I can't. I know I did a stupid thing. :eek: Any help anyone could give me would be great. :)

    Do you have the Win 95 Cd?
    If so try re-installing Win 95.

    No I do not have the disc for 95 I only have 98

    95 was already on the computer when I bought it . Thank you for answering my post. :)

    Also, what do you see on your screen when the pc is booted?

    Auntie, go to Bootdisk, and download the file for 98 SE OEM. Put a floppy into the drive and double click this file, and you will end up with a bootable floppy. Put this floppy into your computer and turn it on. Choose with CDROM support, and wait for the computer to boot up.
    When you see the A:\> appear, there is a message on the screen above it, giving you the drive letter for the CD, it will not be the usual letter, it could be E: or something else entirely.
    Use this letter in place of the X when you type in the command below to start windows setup.
    X:\win98\setup press enter
