It seems from installing AOL before updating my IE6 (Win 2000) Aol has taken over the browser. How can I get the spinning globe back because all the help defaults go to AOL

    Thanks

There are tons of freeware that will change the picture in the browser. IE is IE regardless on the picture.

Thanks, that took care of the logo. But how can I redirect the "online support" on the help menu to MS's Knowlegde base which is the standard MS default online support?

The browser goes to the following page -

    http://www.aol.com/support/index.adp

When you installed AOL is it possible that you set it to be the default Browser ?

You might try right Clicking on the IE icon. ( on the Desktop not the one in the taskbar ) Select Properties and then the Programs tab. There is ( at the bottom ) a selection to restore IE default settings.

If You do a seach in the registry (Start > Run > regedit) for "HelpLink" (without the double quotes), You'll find all HelpLinks for all applications. Search again until You find one that matches the undesired URL, right-click and change. Continue the search to the end of the registry, there may be more than one instance.

If You're not familiar with the registry - BACKUP before editing!

    HTH,
    Christer

Do not know how to get Help or Online Support on the AOL browser to go to MS Help or MS Online Support (I understand they are now taking you to some AOL equivalents), but you could just make shortcuts to put on your Desktop or Quick Launch for MS Help.
The target for the Help shortcut is C:\WINDOWS\Help\WINDOWS.CHM.
For Online Support it is http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx
Do the links in IE Help take you to where you want to go when you are using the IE browser?
