    I'm back...

    Have been busy the past week or two so haven't had the chance to spend more time on this until last weekend.

    Here's where I'm at;
    - FYI, the PC in question is using NTFS

    - I turned off Simple File Sharing

    - no matter what I did with Sharing and Security (permissions, etc) I could not remotely access "Program Files" and a couple of other directories, such as the Administrator folder within Documnets and settings...

    - I thought maybe I was being denied access to the Prog Files because of some previoulsy "inherited" properties, so I checked a box (not sure if I did it right) that seemed to allow me to take over ownership of all the folders/files in the Program Files directory -- however, even after doing this (assuming I did it properly) I still couldn't access the Prog Files folder... Grrr....

    - I discovered that if I mapped network access to the C drive on this PC using C$, and then logged on as the Administrator with the right p/w, I could in fact see all the directoris on the C drive (including Program Files!)

    Since I can use C$ to remotely manage all the folders and files I guess I've solved my problem, but it still bugs me that I can't get access to the Prog Files folder in the more straight forward way.

    Anybody have any advice...?

    Thanks and regards.
