can someone help me? i think this started occuring right after i installed sp2. im running xp home sp2, and for some reason my logon screen has reverted back to the classic logon screen. when i logoff, it goes to that, instead of the blue welcome screen, even though i have "Use the Welcome Screen" checked in user accounts. also, i dont have a password, so why does the (classic) logon screen pop up when i start up my computer. i posted my hijack this log, just in case theres anything you can see.

Nothing serious is jumping out at me from your log. May want to run Spybot and get rid of some of the add-ons.

    See this thread, too.

    no password?

come on...You have no windows password? whats your ip address and user name? just kidding.
Seriously. creat a password. You can always tell XP that users dont need to enter a user name and password to use the computer, but atleast visitors (hakcers/crackers) from outside on the internet will have to get through a password.
Once you set a password, go to Start then goto Run then type "control userpasswords2" with no quotes. this brings up a box like this:
