When downloading Internet Explorer 6 I continually get the following message "

"a previous installation has pendig work requiring a reboot" but although I've done it few times still doesn't work. I am currently using "Advanced Browser" but I really need IE to re-install a DLL file and to run Microsoft Windows update.

Any kind of help is very much appreciated.

    Try this

You could try the repair option, go to control panel/add and remove / Internet Explorer/click on add & remove and select the repair option and see if you can then download IE6.
You could also try reinstalling IE5.5, when reinstalling 5.5, if it asks to overwrite files, say yes. hopefully this should ovewrite any problem files and then try to download and install install IE 6,

    alboy--
I am not sure that is going to help anything. But even if it is, it is not so easy to find a download for IE5.5

Maybe the problem is with "Advanced Browser ". I know nothing about it. Maybe uninstall it and then try to install IE6 with all the updates.
