    liphor,

This is most likely the problem with your images also. You installed Netscape 7.2 over the existing Netscape 7.1. These two versions are not compatible with each other, and that's why 7.2 has problems. Follow this guideline for uninstalling both, then reinstalling 7.2: http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/7172uninstall.html

    liphor,

First: Create a backup folder on your HD, and name C:\Backup (or whatever you wish)
    Next: copy your Profiles folder
Paste the copy into the C:\Backup folder
    See: Profiles Folder Location

Actually, the uninstall/reinstall will have no effect on your Profile, however it's always best to make a copy for safe keeping. You should do this on a frequent basis...

Next: Uninstall Netscape 7.2 first using Add/Remove, and that will remove both 7.1 and 7.2, including the Add/Remove entries for 7.1 and 7.2.

After you have uninstalled, then delete the Netscape Program folder for 7.1 and 7.2:
    C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape

Also delete the GRE folders for 7.1 and 7.2:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\mozilla.org\GRE\1.4f_2003062408
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\mozilla.org\GRE\1.7.2_2004080415

Next: REBOOT THE PC so the system can update files.

Reinstall Netscape 7.2, and you should have no further problems.

See this guideline for a "Custom" install of Netscape 7.2:
    http://home.att.net/~cherokee65/index5.html

    liphor,

The Help & Support Center is the only Help component that comes with Netscape 7.2. I thought you were saying that you weren't able to open this component.

In Edit | Preferences | Privacy & Sercurity, is "Accept all images" enabled?

Do you have Java and JavaScript enabled? The setting for Java is in:
    Edit | Advanced
The setting for JavaScript is in: Edit | Advanced | Scripts & Plugins

Did you install the Sun Java plugin, or are you using the Java that came with Netscape? Try downloading and installing the Sun Java Plugin 1.4.2_05JRE from this page: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html The download you want is:
J2SE v 1.4.2_05 JRE includes the JVM technology
The J2SE Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

Did you install a Theme, often Themes can cause problems.

    liphor,

Look at this Screen Shot. The left panel contains all the Help topics. If you don't see that panel, there is a small "grippy" that you need to click in order to open the left panel. In the Screen Shot, my cursor is beside the grippy.

Let us know if this solves the problem.
