I'm bumping this. This is a nifty tool and I'd like some feedback on this.

In today's viral wasteland, above should be the default. I started with NSW 1.00 /w95 and went through NSW / AV 2003 / on my XP. Norton products have always treated me well and never caused a problem. When I went to a network environment and brought in the old and slow w98, current NSW are alittle top heavy. I chose AVG free for both my XP and w98, preferring the simplicity of managing and understanding one program. AVG free has automatic definition updater, which I have set for daily updates. I feel all of the popular AV's are good. Daily updates just makes them better.

    Hi Charles...

I sounds like a great tool to use so I installed it at home and works fine...I am now at defs dated 10/10/2004.

I am a little leary of doing it a work though. With 600 Plus computers all getting false positives...it could be a headache.
I'm going to do some testing though...

Thanks for bring this app to our attention.

    Hi Dennis,

In today's viral wasteland, above should be the default.

I agree, but - always a "but" isn't there - as Kent pointed out, there are risks.

In a home environment, keeping in mind the possible FP's, I think just the ticket.

    Regards - Charles

Point well taken. The question to "the sword cuts both ways "...

    600 computers issuing false positives
    ------(or)------
600 computers quarantine with a virus.

The life of an network Admin - you eat stress for breakfast, lunch, and supper.
    :( Not a tasty diet. :(
